TAKE A SEAT AT THE BAR.
Thanks for visiting A Beer with the Band®. This project was born out of a love for a few things: music, the city of Chicago, the kickass bands that live here, the bands that pass through and most importantly, the good conversations that can happen over a beer or two.
The purpose of this site is not to "make or break" bands or musicians. Rather, we are here to tell their stories and give you a taste of what it's like to have a pre-show beer in the greenroom.
If you're a reader, crack a cold one, sit back and enjoy. And if you’re a musician, here’s how this whole thing works (it’s really pretty simple): Send an email to email@example.com. Tell us a little about you and your band. We'll buy you a beer. We’ll chat. And we'll recap it here for our readers.

FOUNDER + EDITOR-in-CHIEF
Born and raised in a suburb just outside of Chicago, Kristen is no stranger to the Chicago music scene. Her first concert was Taking Back Sunday at the Metro in eighth grade, after she convinced her mom to let her take the train downtown alone. She bought her first concert T-shirt, fell in love with live music and never looked back. After a four-year retreat to rural Indiana, she graduated from DePauw University (Greencastle, Ind.) with a bachelor's in creative writing and Spanish, and went on to pursue a master of fine arts in writing from Northwestern University. Kristen has worked as a freelance writer, digital designer, the editor-in-chief of a print publication, and the assistant editor for a Chicago-based women's website. When she's not drinking beer or seeing live shows, you can find her hosting live sessions at Audiotree and managing marketing/operations at Evanston SPACE, a 300-capacity venue. If you’re interested in having a beer with Kristen, drop her a line at firstname.lastname@example.org / email@example.com.
